BuddyPress User Badges
BuddyPress User Badges adds badge functionality to BuddyPress-based communities. This plugin allows you to create any number of custom badges and assign these badges to users. Badges can be assigned manually or automatically. These badges will be displayed in the BuddyPress member list as well as on the profile page.
Why Use BuddyPress User Badges?
Badges can be a great way to show appreciation to your users. It adds a sense of difference, a sense of belonging. You can award badges to make your users feel special. Having the functionality of the badge adds that x-factor to your community.
Here are some examples of using badges: You can create badges for a top performer, top cricketers, footballers, best student, teacher, etc. Feel free to use your imagination.
Features of BuddyPress User Badges
- Custom Badges: Custom badges can be created and assigned to users. For example, you can create a badge with a bat icon and assign it to all baseball fans.
- Sortable Badges: With BuddyPress User Badges you can sort by drag and drop. You, as the BuddyPress site administrator, can control the order in which a badge is displayed on a user's profile. The position will be reflected in the front-end list of badges.
- Multiple Badges: You can create and assign as many badges as you like.
- Badges based on member types: – If you are using member types (you may want to explore the awesome Member Types Pro plugin), you can add badges for each member type. All users with the member type will get the badges corresponding to their member type. Member type badges can be enabled/disabled per member type.
- Role-based badges: With BuddyPress User Badges you can assign badges to WordPress roles. All users with the role will be assigned the badge. Role-based badge can be enabled/disabled for each role.
- Activate/Deactivate credential: You can mark a credential as active or deactivate it whenever you need.
- Role/Member Type Badge Position: – The position of the role and member type badges can be changed using the settings. The site administrator can select the ‘before’ or ‘after’ custom badge options.
- Screen to display badges: – Badges can be displayed on the selected screen by using the settings. Options are Member Directory, Group Member List, or Single User Profile.
- Credential position: – The position of the badge can be set through the settings. Available options are Before and After the name.
You can upload a png/jpg or SVG to use as an icon. By default we use 32px but you can control this via CSS.
