PMPRO Sponsored Group Members
For groups or institutions that allow a member to purchase a block of linked accounts. The plugin provides the core member with a code to distribute to their team for use during registration. The primary member can also automatically register secondary accounts during checkout.
How PMPRO Works Sponsored Group Members
There are a few possible scenarios with this plugin. Each scenario shares these common characteristics:
- When users purchase a primary account (or are assigned one by an administrator), a discount code is generated to allow sponsored members to sign up to the sponsored tier for free.
- If a user has a discount code assigned, it will appear in their membership account and confirmation pages.
- Sponsored members will be linked to their sponsor through the pmpro_discount_codes_uses table.
- If a sponsor's account is terminated, the accounts of all of their sponsored members will also be deactivated.
- If a sponsor's account is re-enabled at a later time, all of their sponsored members' accounts will be automatically re-enabled.
- Sponsors (parents) cannot use their own code to pay for membership.
Please note that PMPRO Sponsored Group Members will only work with the membership checkout process included in Paid Memberships Pro. It is not supported when using another checkout process for membership, such as WooCommerce
